This word has been swirling in my head all week! This morning at 5:15 am, I woke up and once again these words were fighting to get out of me! I pulled out my phone and began to type them out. Everyone has dealt with or will deal with some type of opposition. This is written from a perspective if opposition were a person. I hope these words encourage you, strengthen you to continue to move toward your goals, and even make you smile…

Ahhh…Opposition,
Here you are again.
Do you think this time you’ll win?
You always seem to show up from time to time
Although you aren’t my friend.
I admit, you appear strong
But my determination and faith is stronger
You should know me by now that, it might take a minute
But, you’re GOING to be blown asunder!
You’re roaring like a mighty lion
But, I’ve finally learned to call your bluff
I’m going to continue to push THROUGH you
While ignoring your “huff” and your “puff”
You know, in some ways, I thank you, Opposition
For showing up and forcing me to choose
To either give up and stop in the place I’m in
OR move THROUGH you and watch YOU LOSE
Of course, you showed up at a time
Inconvenient to me
But, also confirmed that on the other side of you
Is the place I’m meant to be!
Unknowingly to you, you rose up and revealed
The very door I needed to walk through
Your purpose was to stop me
You thought I still didn’t have a clue
But, INSTEAD, you confirmed my path
And for THAT, Opposition? THANK YOU!
Because now, I’m on the other side of you!
