Open Our Eyes That We May See

2 Kings 6:15-17

15 When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” the servant asked.

16 “Don’t be afraid,” the prophet answered. “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”

17 And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

Lamentations 3:21-23

21 Yet this I call to mind
and therefore I have hope:

22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
23 They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

This is my prayer for us. “Lord, open our eyes that we may see.” Sometimes we feel surrounded. Alone. When things are falling down around us and we are panicking, it can be easy to get distracted and see the problems instead of our help that’s constantly with us.

In this passage, Elisha’s servant had momentarily forgotten who he was in company with. He had seen the power of God upon Elisha many times. But, all he could see at the moment was the trouble surrounding them-and it LOOKED like they would lose.

Can we honestly admit that’s us at times? When we are surrounded by issues, troubles, discouragement and fear? Holy Spirit is right there, we’ve seen Him move on our behalf…but, circumstances look so foreboding! Momentarily, we can forget! BUT, “Those who are with us are more than those who are with them!”. Our Father “…daily loads us with benefits” (Psalms 68:19) and His faithfulness is GREAT toward us!

I pray that we can get a revelation of how MUCH God loves us, is always present and surrounds us with His deliverance! I pray The Lord will open up our eyes that we may see that with HIM on our side, we are overcomers, no matter WHAT is surrounding us! I pray we have Godly connections that will pray for us as Elisha did for his servant in his time of distress. I pray that we can call to mind and have HOPE in the GOODNESS and GREATNESS of OUR GOD! You might feel alone but, you’re never alone!

BE ENCOURAGED!

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
