Lord of HOPE

Not by Might, nor by power but by my spirit says the Lord of HOPE!

I know that’s not how it goes. The scripture is from Zechariah 4:6. “Not by might, nor by power but by My Spirit says the Lord of HOSTS”. It’s alot of good stuff in that chapter but, one night in my quiet time I heard this scripture so, I said it out loud and ended with “LORD OF HOPE! “Immediately, I caught my mistake. BUT, I then realized that even though the scripture didn’t say my name exactly……it still included me. It wasn’t a mistake after all. It seemed to break down in my mind in such a way that out of a MULTITUDE OF HOSTS,  I was being personally spoken to and singled out. I felt it. He is still concerned about little old me. I encourage you to say this scripture out loud and include YOUR name. He’s speaking to YOU TOO! I love how personal He is! He truly wants to be “in our business”. If we invite Him in, He is willing to be in every facet of our lives. Big or small.

To push this point even further, as I was even contemplating typing this blog or even sharing it, He seemed to send confirmation, I was sitting in my room when my daughters walked in and we began to talk. One of them has been assigned to do something that included one of her many talents. IMMEDIATELY she began to stress and feel overwhelmed. She questioned if she knew enough to do it and how SHE-in her strength- was going to do it along with other things she had going on. How timely and how familiar that sounded! My goodness! As I listened to her, I was reminded of having a similar moment not even 24hours ago! Thank You Lord that I am able to share with her what you said to me even as I practice it! I explained this blog and told her to put her name right there as well and LET GOD BE HER LORD…and breathe. We are vessels He wants to use to do His work on the earth and also to show forth HIM in our everyday lives. It’s not in OUR might or OUR power but by HIS SPIRIT that it’s done. We are not alone! He wants our trust, surrender, obedience and cooperation. Yes, easier said than done but, willingness is a first step-everything else kicks in as we go. He is our help!

What’s overwhelming you? What seems to big for you? Who is hard to love in your life right now? What are you facing that you simply can’t handle? He’s waiting. Remove it from your shoulders and place it on His and BREATHE. HE has the MIGHT AND THE POWER to handle all of it. Let’s trust Him.
