NOW THAT AIN’T A WORD YOU HEAR EVERY DAY!! But, I did and I honestly didn’t know what it meant! I have heard the word “calibrate” before but not recently. I thought then it was in reference to a car? I don’t know. I was clueless and looked it up.
Recalibrate is to “calibrate again”. Mmmmm? Ok? I don’t get it.
So, I looked up the word “calibrate”. It means ” To check or adjust by comparison with a standard…”
I’m getting it. Upon further research, I found that to Recalibrate means ” To make a change to (a routine, behavior or habit)”
It’s coming together.
I can go many directions with this but only one is sticking out. When the world was “normal” as we knew it, we basically “calibrated ourselves”. We checked and adjusted ourselves to the world’s standards or to our peers standards. We compared ourselves with others, tried to live up to their expectations, painted on a smile and played a part. Some of us on hamster wheels. All the while leaving the REAL STANDARD to play the sidelines. We kinda wanted the real standard in the game but, seems like all this other “players” were taking HIS place. We were running but, not as efficiently as we should. Our standard of measurement was off.
In the past year, those willing. have had to have some “recalibrations” by The REAL Standard. It has NOT been a fun time but a NECESSARY time. It has caused us to look at how we were calibrated and realize that some things had/have to be “tweeked”, reshaped and refocused so that we could line up and operate as we should, at a higher level.
This comes by putting “The Standard” in His correct place and then reworking everything around The Standard so that it becomes the center of everything in our lives. Our eyes, our hearts and our minds focused on The Standard FIRST and then, we move according to it. We are being “recalibrated”. We have been and are being measured and in every area that is not lining up, it is being recalibrated so that it can line up and work at it’s most optimal level.
That is wonderful! That is exciting! It’s liberating! Why? Because FINALLY, some are being released from having several standards to now just having ONE. THE ONE. WHO is your standard? WHAT is your standard? What are you using for measurement?
I was intentionally vague with this post so those that choose to read it will think and look deeper to see what’s really going on. As I typed, I also heard scriptures that I have included for a deeper look.
I will add that, normally when something is “recalibrated”, you think of a machine. We can MAKE a machine align and work more efficiently. It doesn’t really have a choice but, we do. We get to choose if we’ll yield to this process. Have you been choosing to? I have! Be Blessed!
