Remember to Praise!

Jun 7, 2021 | Encouragement

A few nights ago, during my prayer time, I sensed a “deficit” in the area of praise. The question that was posed to me was “Where is it?”. I felt as if He was grieved. The Lord has heard our complaints, our cares and concerns, even our lamenting but, not nearly as much praise. I saw a picture of a scale. The more weighty side held all of our laments while the light side held our praise. After repenting myself, I was led to share.

We are living in trying times and difficult days. There is much uncertaintly. BUT, the GOOD NEWS is that God said He would never leave us nor forsake us. He loves us so much! His joy is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)  We can trust Him. He wants our attention. He wants our eyes on Him instead of all the chaos. There are many scriptures that speak of praise. The book of Psalms is full of David taking his troubles to the Lord, which is good. It’s part of our relationship with Him. BUT, at the same time, David also had a praise. He verbally praised God and spoke of his continued trust in Him. While reading of Paul and Silas in Acts, they praised while being locked up. Not only did their praise encourage them personally, it got the attention of everyone else in the prison as well. As a result of THEIR praise, they were set free from chains as well as the other prisoners!  We were designed to give God glory and as we do so, things change! Praise is a weapon! Let’s not allow hardship to stop our praise! Let’s not lose focus! LET’S PUT THE WEIGHT ON PRAISE! LET’S GO!

25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. 26 Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.
