(Acts 3:1-26, 4:14,16)
All my life I’ve been lame and had to look up at man
Wondering what it would be like to walk, run, stand
This is all I know so, I’ve made my peace
Of everyone always looking down on me
But today, something changed. I’m no longer lame.
Such was my life. I’ve always been carried
Every day by the temple gate, I tarried
Begging the people that passed by to give
Something to me so I’d be able to live
But today, something changed. I’m no longer lame.
People who’ve known me all these years
Aware of my condition
Were used to me, glanced with pity or ignored me and passed by
In their hearts and minds, pronouncing my benediction
As these men walked by, I hoped they’d show pity
They looked down at me with eyes that glistened with authority
I wasn’t expecting to be so….acknowledged
But as they looked at me – really saw ME
Over 40 years of feeling insignificant, was abolished.
As I gazed upon them at their command
I knew from them I would receive
But never did I think it would be so life changing
A miracle I never thought could be achieved.
For that day, my life was forever changed
I’m no longer lame
For I received my healing when they called on Jesus Name.
At the very gate where I laid lame
I was now able to jump, praise and leap
God chose me that day
To get His Glory and my joy I could not keep!
The people that had known my past
Were amazed by the beautiful act at the beautiful gate
That opened a gate for others to be reached
Because of the miracle God did for me, The Gospel was preached
Even the officials could not speak against the miracle
As I stood before their very eyes
God used me as a living testimony. He used me, little lame, unknown me
As a catalyst that touched many lives.
Now, Jesus is my alm.
